I'm Tracy Manhard

I became a health coach in honor of my mom who passed away from kidney failure and cardiovascular disease. For years I wondered why my mom didn't make the lifestyle changes she needed to make to live fully and well with chronic disease. I just didn't understand. It seemed so simple to me.

What I know now as a master certified health coach, is that encouraging mom to walk around the block and eat healthier wasn't enough. It wasn't what she needed.

That's the part that crushes me! I thought I was supporting her with encouragement, but she needed help and resources beyond a nagging daughter and directives from her doctors.

She needed to find her 'why' and motivation to make changes. She needed to dream about what life looked like despite having to look up to her dialysis machine every night. She needed help creating a plan, with goals and she needed accountability.

MODULE 1

Building a Solid Foundation

We kick off the course by learning how to build a solid foundation to live fully and well with chronic disease.

In this module, you’ll identify and work through ambivalent feelings and emotions you have about your diagnosis, medical event and the changes you are here to make. You’ll learn how to lift yourself up with positivity, kindness and compassion

You’ll learn the best way to harness YOUR motivation to make important lifestyle changes. External motivation like family members, doctors or even a diagnosis, isn't always the best motivation for change. You’ll find your why for making important changes.

You’ll learn why it’s so important to have self-confidence, and how to create a “yes I can!” attitude, even if history has taught you otherwise. Years of failed attempts at making changes to your diet, exercise and unhealthy habits are in the past. You are focused on the future now!

MODULE 2

Seeing the big picture of wellness, visualizing the future and closing the gaps

Wellness refers to complete health, rather than just your physical health. In this module we’ll look at the Illness-Wellness Continuum and learn why you want to keep moving down the Wellness Paradigm. The neutral point, where medicine is working and everything seems ok, isn’t the goal. You want to move towards high level wellness.

You’ll take a deep dive into all areas of your life to help you prioritize your focus and uncover hidden stressors that might hinder your progress

A goal that is not tied to some kind of a vision will often just “float out there” with a vague sense of importance. So you will create an image of what your future looks like living fully and well (this is your Living Well Vision). This important step will help you create your Living Well Blueprint.  

With your Living Well Vision in hand, you’ll work on discovering what you need to do to close the gaps between where you are now and where you want to be.

This module is packed with really important work. You could skip all of this and simply create goals to change lifestyle habits; however, they won’t be lasting. This is why you are here! Every step you make has a purpose and that’s to achieve your goals. MOST importantly, it is to live life fully and well with chronic disease. To live for longevity.

MODULE 3

Creating Your Living Well Blueprint

This is the plan! Based on what you discovered as the gaps between where you are and where you want to be, you will work to create your Living Well Blueprint.  The blueprint contains your goals, the skills needed to support the goals and the actions you need to build on the skills. 

You will create a solid blueprint with concrete actions you need to achieve to create healthy habits. 

This might be the piece of the puzzle that has been missing when trying to make lifestyle changes. NOT ANY MORE!

Unlike times in your past when you set out to change a behavior and failed, you have the next 5 weeks of accountability and coaching to help you make sustainable changes. And, if you need some extra time and support, you have my promise that it’s available to you. 

MODULE 4

Five Weeks of Action

Now that you have a plan in place, it's time to take action! Five weeks of action!!!!!

Each week you'll create an action plan and establish how you are going to be accountable to yourself and your goals. At the end of the week, you'll check-in and look at the feedback you received from the week. Meaning, if you didn't achieve your goal, you'll look at different scenarios to understand why and make adjustments to your blueprint if necessary.

You'll have five weeks to build skills and create actions to achieve your goals. This is how you begin to make lasting health changes.

 

MODULE 5

Continuing on Your Wellness Journey

Whether you took small steps or gigantic leaps towards regaining power to live fully and well, this will be a time for celebration! Your accomplishments are your own and here in week nine we pause to take a look back at how far you have come in just a short period of time.

In this module you'll learn about lapses and how to turn one into an opportunity to explore what happened and what could be done in the future to prevent it from happening again.

You'll evaluate where you are on the Illness-Wellness Continuum and if you want to continue towards the Wellness Paradigm.

You'll take another look at your tribe just to ensure, again, that you are surrounded by an environment and people who support your goals.

Lastly, this won't be a good-bye. You probably will have some goals you still want to accomplish and the Lotus Club and Community is the space for you to continue your work. Whether you are looking for resources, participate in the weekly optional coaching calls or continue to be part of our community; you have access and a lifetime mentor by your side.
